| 14 February 2003 | Stop Spyware and Adware | | | SpyBot-S&D searches your harddisk for so-called spybots or adbots; little modules that are responsible for the ads many programs show. But many of these modules also transmit information about your surfing behaviour and more to the net.
If SpyBot-S&D finds such modules, it can remove them - or replace them with empty dummies in case their host won't work any more with its bot removed. In most cases, the host software still runs after removing the bot. | Click Here if you want to download this file

| 23 September 2003 | Assessing ICT at KS1&2 | | This booklet was produced as a result of a shared initiative between Trafford ICT Centre staff, the Salford and Trafford EAZ consultant for ICT and the Trafford ICT co-ordinators who attended the Summer Term 2000 meeting.
The booklet has been produced in response to teacher’s needs for advice and guidance on the assessment of children’s ICT capability. It is hoped that teachers will find it useful as a framework to develop their competence and confidence in assessing children’s attainment. In addition, the ideas and activities suggested may help schools to develop their own thinking so that expectations about what children can achieve are clarified, refined and extended in order to raise standards in ICT.
This document is produced with Trafford schools in mind where access to a core of software is generally common to all. It seeks to bring a clarity and consistency which will lead to a shared understanding, particularly where schools have adopted the QCA Scheme of Work for ICT as the framework for their curriculum delivery.
